Nat over at The Photographers Table has created this real treat for your face – find out how to make a super simple face mask right here!
There isn’t much a good face mask can’t cure. I can’t think of anything better to take the stress out of a crappy day in the office, hydrating your summer skin or simply beating back those horrible black heads! But instead of raiding the high street shops, you might want to look a little closer to home… Yep, I’m talking the contents of your fridge! Ingredients like yogurt have exceptional exfoliating properties and honey is brilliant at busting spot-causing bacteria!
Before you raid your kitchen cupboards here are a couple of things for you to consider…
- Avoid applying acidic ingredients directly onto your skin – these can cause skin bleaching resulting in red blotches.
- Check sell-By dates carefully – If you wouldn’t eat it, it’s not a good idea to slather it all over your face!
- Do a Patch Test First – Just like trying out any new treatment, it pays to do a quick patch test to see how your skin will react.
- Use The Mask On The Day You Make It – Ingredients exposed to air and bacteria will very quickly go off and could easily irritate the skin.
Now we’ve covered all the important details, if you fancy getting creative in the kitchen here is one of favourite homemade face masks to whip up. Just try not to eat it…
Let me know if you try any these facemasks and make sure you consider the few points at the top of this post before applying anything to your face!
Happy Relaxing,
