Autumnal Porridge Bowl

A mouthwatering breakfast meal that can also be used as a snack throughout the day.

  • 80 g porridge oats
  • 440 ml milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla bean paste
  • 2 sliced apples
  • A handful of blackberries
  • 2 tbsp hilltop honey, extra for drizzling


  1. To make honeyed apples, heat a large non-stick frying pan over high heat.
  2. Cook the apple for 1 minute each side.
  3. Add honey and cook for a further 1–2 minutes or until golden and caramelised.
  4. Place the oats, milk and vanilla bean paste in a saucepan over low heat.
  5. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 8 minutes or until thickened.
  6. Spoon into serving bowls and top with the honeyed apples, extra honey and hedgerow blackberries.
