Hilltop Supporting #GetLippy Campaign 2023

Are you ready to Get Lippy? Every May, The Eve Appeal runs a national awareness campaign to educate and to break down the stigmas and shame that surround gynaecological health. The Get Lippy campaign is a bold and much-needed bid to raise awareness of women’s gynaecological cancers.

So what does Get Lippy mean, and why are we supporting it here at Hilltop?Hilltop_Get_Lippy_Campaign_2023_Image1

The Get Lippy Campaign: what you need to know

The Get Lippy campaign aims to open our eyes about the stark reality when it comes to gynaecological health- and the price we pay when we bury our heads in the sand. According to The Eve Appeal, less than 2% of us are even aware that there are five gynaecological cancers in total: womb, ovarian, cervical, vulval and vaginal. Each year in the UK, there are 22,050 new cases diagnosed- equating to 60 per day. And of those 60, 21 will very sadly die.

Early detection can change this number- and if more women are aware of the signs of cancer, more lives can be saved. So the Get Lippy campaign is calling on beauty brands and influencers to help them spread the word that we can- and SHOULD- be talking about this.

The mission is to get lippy, and to open up the conversation about gynae health. We need to shout loud and proud, so that everyone has the knowledge, and nobody feels ashamed to seek help when they need it.

About The Eve Appeal

“The Eve Appeal is the only UK national charity raising awareness and funding

research into the prevention and early diagnosis of the five gynaecological cancers – womb, ovarian, cervical, vulval and vaginal. It was set up to save lives by funding ground-breaking research focused on developing effective methods of risk prediction, earlier detection and developing screening for these cancers.

The world-leading research that we fund is ambitious and challenging but our vision is simple: A future where gynaecological cancers are diseases of the past.”

Every year, the Eve Appeal launches its Get Lippy campaign to break down the stigmas that surround women’s gynaecological health. It’s a sad fact that too many of us are still very ashamed or embarrassed to talk about certain health topics- but the reality is that if we stay silent, the stigmas will win.

So let’s all get lippy, and make some noise!Hilltop_Get_Lippy_Campaign_2023_Image2

The Get Lippy campaign is important to us all here at Hilltop, and not just to the women on the team. The patients who die each year due to gynaecological cancers are all someone we love, taken too soon- mothers, sisters, wives, partners, friends.

We want to help change the narrative and smash the taboos. We want to help raise much-needed funds for The Eve Appeal, so that more women know the signs, and are able to get their diagnosis earlier. We want to help more people have a better chance at fighting the disease.

Make sure to stay tuned on our socials & join us with supporting the campaign!
