Apple pecan pastry is perfect for breakfast. The warm apple and cinnamon flavours are perfect with that first cup of coffee in the morning.

Ingredients
- Apple, sliced (thinner is better but it works with chunky bits too as you can see from the video!)
- Chopped pecans

Hilltop Amber Maple Syrup
- Cinnamon (optional)
- Puff pastry
- Egg (whisked for egg wash)
- Icing sugar for decoration

Directions
- On a baking tray sprinkle cinnamon if using, then squirt maple syrup and/or carob syrup roughly where you want the pastries.
Sprinkle chopped pecans.
Place apple on top of pecans.
Add more syrup if desired.
Place pre-cut puff pastry on top of the apple stack.
Press down at the edges to ensure its all in the middle.
Egg wash.
Baked at 180 degrees Celsius for 8-10 minutes, until golden brown.
- Dust with icing sugar to look fancy.
