Ingredients
- 1x bluefin tuna steak
- 20g sesame seeds
- 1x portion of Sainsbury’s wholegrain noodles
- 1x Chopped spring onion for garnishing
2 tbsp Hilltop Welsh Blossom Honey
- 2 tbsp dark soy sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp lazy garlic
- 1 tsp lazy ginger
- 1 tsp mirin
For the sauce:
Directions
- Combine the honey, soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic and ginger in a bowl and mix well till combined.
- Add 20 per cent of your sauce mixture to a small dish and add your mirin - this will be your dipping sauce OR you can pour it over your noodles when cooked.
- Add your tuna steak to the main mixture until well coated and sticky.
- Ideally you want to leave the tuna steak for 10-15 minutes for the fish to take on the flavours.
- On a plate, spread your sesame seeds and carefully coat your tuna steak on all sides.
- Heat a pan to medium heat and add a little bit of vegetable or rapeseed oil to the pan.
- Add your tuna steak to the pan, 3-4 mins on either side, and then leave to rest. Or longer if you like your tuna more well done.
- The sesame seeds will go a little bit brown as they get toasted but this is good!
- Leave the tuna to rest for 5 minutes - it’ll continue cooking.
- In a pot, add boiling water and salt, bring to the boil and add your noodles - cook for 5 mins and drain. I add the noodles to my tuna pan to get more flavour into them.
- Grab your favourite bowl, add your noodles, slice up your tuna and serve.
- Finish with fresh chopped spring onion and a drizzle of extra sesame oil. Enjoy.
