Honey oat flapjack with apple crumble topping

Chewy honey oat flapjacks topped with a sweet, spiced apple crumble—perfect for a cosy snack or dessert

Honey oat flapjack with apple crumble topping

Ingredients

    • 225g Unsalted butter
    • 75g Caster sugar
    • 4 tbsp Hilltop Everyday Blossom Honey

    • 350g Oats
    • 1 can of apple pie filling

    • 300g Plain flour
    • 175g Brown sugar
    • 200g Unsalted butter

    Directions

    1. Pre-heat the oven to 180 fan. Butter and line a square tin with greaseproof paper
    2. Melt the butter, sugar and honey in a pan over a medium heat, stirring until the butter has melted
    3. Weigh the oats into a mixing bowl and pour the butter and honey mixture into the oats
    4. Give this a good mix until the oats are coated
    5. Tip the mixture into the bottom on the baking tin and spread evenly
    6. Empty the tin of apple pie filling on the top of the flapjack mix and spread evenly
    7. For the crumble topping:

    8. Place the flour and sugar in a large bowl and mix well. Take a few cubes of butter at a time and rub into the flour mixture. Keep rubbing until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs and all the butter is incorporated into the mix
    9. Pour the crumble mixture evenly on top of the apple pie filling
    10. Bake in the oven for 20-25 mins until lightly golden. Leave to cool in the tin, then remove before cutting slices
