Nothing screams winter to us than a classic, old-fashioned hot toddy. The combination of whisky, honey, lemon, cinnamon and cloves really packs a punch and is great for entertaining in winter. Get yourself warmed up with this recipe.
3 tsp Hilltop Manuka MGO50+ Honey
50ml of whisky
½ cinnamon stick (or grounded cinnamon spices)
1 lemon (juiced and sliced)
200ml boiling water
Optional choice of 2 cloves
In a bowl, whisk together the whisky and Manuka honey together and split between 2 heatproof glasses.
Add half of the cinnamon stick to each (or grounded cinnamon), then top up with 200ml boiling water.
With the lemon, this will need to be cut in half and juiced. Add a splash of lemon juice to each of the glasses, then taste and add more to your preference.
Once happy, finish each with a slice of lemon, sprinkled with a clove, and serve immediately.
